A CONTEMPORARY CHEF'S KITCHEN IN AN 1860s FARMHOUSE. The clients are a Cordon Bleu-trained chef and her husband, who sought to incorporate a modern, professional kitchen into their circa 1860s suburban farmhouse home.
The kitchen was fastidiously laid-out to meet the requirements of a chef. Designed to allow comfortable movement from storage to preparation, cooking, and cleaning stations, the room features two islands and a dramatic wall of tall units in highly reflective and durable blue solid ray (the color of the Cordon Bleu). Deep drawers provide easy access to pots and pans, and the storage units are coupled with a ladder to allow easy access to items used less frequently.
